The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is in search of a Director for Aboriginal Economic Development to join our team. This role, reporting to the Associate Deputy Secretary for Aboriginal Economic Development, is pivotal in overseeing the execution of the Yuma Yirramboi Strategy, as well as managing essential areas such as employment, recruitment, career advancement, economic expansion, and initiatives supporting small businesses within the Aboriginal Economic Development branch. Prioritising innovation in programs, strategic thinking, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of economics, this position actively cultivates strong partnerships with both industry entities and Aboriginal stakeholders across the state.
This position will play a crucial role in shaping the Department's engagement strategy with Aboriginal communities, ensuring meaningful and impactful interactions, by working with the Yuma Yirramboi Council's Koori Caucus to progress Aboriginal led and identified priority actions.
