The ABC is looking for a Digital Journalist to research, write, edit, and produce content for the News website, app and related digital platforms.
The Job Create and edit high-quality content for ABC News Digital and contribute ideas to enhance ABC's digital news presentation.Stay aware of emerging digital trends to shape new product strategies.Communicate with senior editorial staff and lead shifts as needed, ensuring content quality before publication.Manage content selection for audience-facing products like ABC News front pages.Collaborate with relevant ABC areas for effective cross-media production.Generate diverse stories reflecting Australia's cultural, geographic, and socio-economic variety. About You
You are an experienced Digital Journalist with a sound track record of digital journalism and a demonstrated online skill and knowledge of and enthusiasm for online as a medium. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and meet regular production deadlines.
You'll also have:
Practical journalism experience, including online news publishing systems.Proficient in producing accurate, concise, and engaging digital-first content.Strong understanding of online news presentation, including social media.Demonstrated awareness of new media technologies and platforms.Proven track record in digital journalism with enthusiasm for online media.Willingness to work rotating shifts and adapt to changing practices.Ongoing passion for storytelling that reflects Australia's diversity.Proven ability to source and maintain community contacts.
