The Role: The Digital Health Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering EMR training course materials, working closely with the EMR and digital teams. You will be part of the Digital Health training team whose goal is to design and conduct work-related training for Northern Health.
Reporting to the Digital Health Training Manager, this role will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of high quality and comprehensive training for clinical and certain non-clinical staff at Northern Health. Additionally, you will be responsible for liaising with the EMR team and other NH departments to implement agreed design and workflow processes while providing subject matter expertise to help facilitate safe clinical workflows.
To be successful in this role you will have: Build and maintain good working relationships with Digital Health members and relevant stakeholders including Executives, Subject Matter Experts (SME), relevant Northern Health managers to ensure that training content, related assessments are accurate and meet staff learning needs.Design, build and maintain training artefacts inclusive of but not limited to: Session Plans, Facilitator Guides, Quick Reference Guides, Factsheets, How-to or key workflow videos, infographics, posters, and other relevant performance support tools that support the adoption of approved EMR workflows.Implement 'follow-up' training initiatives to reinforce core skills and behaviours and enhance individual employee capability and development – this 'on-the-job' and telephone support for end users will occur both pre and post formal training events as required.Proven experience in the organisation, development, delivery and evaluation of training to users of clinical systems and coordination of flexible training programs to suit the complexity, needs and best learning methods of clinical and non-clinical staff.Demonstrated understanding of clinical workflows and the role of clinical information systems in the provision of patient care including understanding of the benefits that can be achieved by implementing an electronic clinical system.Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare training material for trainer lead session, eLearning content and reports, give presentations, engage clinicians, negotiate change and effectively communicate to a wide range of health professionals.Demonstrate experience with Oracle Cerner Millennium modules with a strong belief in the benefits of an EMR.
