Learn more about what it means to become a team member with Carolina Cat.SummaryThe Digital Construction Specialist reports directly to the SITECH Professional Services Manager and is responsible for leading all aspects of 3D Modeling Services, Training, Support activities, and customer consulting within SITECH Horizon's technology dealership.
In addition, the Digital Construction Specialist will become certified to work with 3D design data and manage the outsourcing of specific data services.
To be authorized to work with the Trimble software suite, the individual must have a background in civil engineering, construction management, and/or software engineering and must have extensive knowledge of Civil CAD programs and/or Trimble Business Center.Essential FunctionsSales Support (Construction Software)Prepare surface models for use with construction stakeout and machine guidance systemsProvide quotes to clients for specific 3D modeling servicesKnowledge of and experience with Trimble Business Center Software (TBC), Trimble WorksManager, Trimble WorksOS, and GPS Products, including Caterpillar Grade GPS/Laser-based products, Trimble Base and Rover ProductsKnowledge of and experience with Trimble and Non-Trimble, bidding & estimating, project management, takeoff, and fleet management softwareResolve customer problems promptly (via telephone calls, job site visits, office calls, etc.
)Travel to new customers' sites to provide in-field training after the sale when requiredAssist sales and marketing with trade shows and eventsWorkflow & Project ConsultingInterpretation of 3rd party data sets.
Examples include Autodesk Civil 3D, Carlson, Bentley, and TopconManage the activities of 3rd party 3D data service providers to ensure the competent performance of these services within the SITECH responsible region.Calculate volumes using collected survey surface information from various sourcesCollection and management of client data setsManagement of file system structures to store, transfer, and archive project dataManage projects and relationships with 3rd party data service providers and project engineersDemonstrations and TrainingBecome an expert on each product within Trimble's and Caterpillar's technology portfolioManage and execute all preparation for a customer training programPrepare all material, training aids, and resources for each training sessionWork with SITECH Sales to improve current product offeringAssist sales specialist with onsite demonstrations and customer eventsAble to teach in both classroom and field environmentsDrive revenue based upon data services and building new clientsProvide classroom training to support Trimble Position TechnologiesAble to coordinate all training activities, including ordering materials, setting up computers and/or equipment, etc.Other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
