About the Opportunity: John Paul College is seeking a motivated and innovative Digital and Design Coordinator to join our team in 2025!
This position will be integral to enhancing digital and design literacy across our school community and supporting the innovative use of digital technologies in both primary and secondary classrooms.
As Digital and Design Coordinator, you will lead initiatives grounded in the ACARA Digital and Design curriculum.
You will play a key role in advancing digital solutions and design technologies within the school's teaching and learning practices.
Some of the Key Responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership and Library Management Support the Head of Digital Integration and Innovation in developing a progressive approach to digital and design integration.
Oversee the efficient operation of the NMLC, including management of human, material, and financial resources.
Lead the transition toward contemporary library practices and maintain a welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff.
Digital Literacy and Curriculum Integration Promote and model the use of digital and design technologies to inspire teachers and students.
Assist educators in embedding digital and design tools effectively across subject areas, encouraging experimentation and enhancing learning outcomes.
Drive the strategic use of digital technologies in the classroom, including computational thinking and design thinking, fostering authentic solutions for real-world challenges.
Collaborate with teaching staff through lesson demonstrations, team teaching, and professional learning to incorporate new technologies across various subjects.
Innovation and Pedagogy Foster a culture of creativity, critical thinking, and innovation within classroom settings, promoting digital skills that align with the Australian Curriculum's general capabilities.
Create technology-rich learning experiences, guiding teachers to confidently integrate digital tools in meaningful ways.
Lead initiatives in inquiry-based learning and design-thinking processes, supporting students in developing solutions that are practical, ethical, and innovative.
Library and Resource Management Cultivate a resource-rich environment within the library that supports student learning and research.
Engage with the community by organizing events such as Book Week, and support student literacy and research skills.
Manage the distribution and processing of library resources, ensuring students have timely access to essential materials.
Oversee budget management and resource maintenance, ensuring a well-supported learning environment.
Teaching and Curriculum Development (0.2 FTE) Teach a small component (0.2 FTE) in the Secondary School Technology and Innovation department, focusing on technology integration and creative problem-solving.
Plan and deliver hands-on, design-focused classes that foster student innovation and practical application of digital skills.
Support curriculum development aligned with JPC's commitment to future-focused education, emphasizing experimentation and resilience in learning.

Demonstrating robust organizational skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Graduate qualifications in education, with additional certifications in digital learning, library science, or educational leadership, are preferred.
