The Role: As an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, the Dietitian provides a professional clinical dietetic service to patients within the allocated clinical workload in accordance with organisational Policies, Best Practice Standards and the Dietitians Australia (DA) Code of conduct. Provide professional high quality and evidence based clinical dietetic services (including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation) to individuals, groups or communities within the allocated work areas. Participate as an effective member of both the dietetics and multidisciplinary teams; including liaising with other departments and attending and contributing at ward meetings, discharge planning meetings and case conferences, when appropriate. Contribute to the development of the service by initiating and participating in planning activities, quality improvement projects and review of service policies, procedures and resources. Assist with provision of nutrition education via student supervision and in-services education to staff as appropriate. The Team: The Nutrition and Dietetics team at THS-South is made up of almost 40 staff, from Dietetic Assistants through to Senior Dietitians, with significant clinical expertise and multiple opportunities for contribution to quality improvement activities, research and service development. We provide nutrition support to inpatients and outpatients and cover both paediatric and adult cohorts across a variety of specialty areas. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. Our HP1-2 Dietitians cover work areas based on a rotational roster to allow increased exposure to multiple clinical areas such as surgical, general medical, medical specialties and subacute. Details of appointment: Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $71,441 to 107,878 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Allowances: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria. Approved Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, from a University or other tertiary institution, majoring in appropriate subjects, and a graduate diploma or postgraduate degree course in dietetics of one or two years; or an approved four year undergraduate degree majoring in nutrition and dietetics at a recognised Australian tertiary institution; or a pass in the Dietitians Australia (DA) examination in dietetics for overseas trained dietitians.
