The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. We share a common management structure with one CEO. We have a commitment to partnership and common Mission, Vision and Values. The Alliance Board consists of both hospital boards combined. The Listowel Memorial Hospital has been providing acute care and complex continuing care services to the residents of North Perth and the hospital's catchment area since 1919. Our fully accredited hospital offers a wide range of primary and secondary services including 24-hour emergency services. In-patient and out-patient care, specialist clinics and supportive diagnostic services. The Hospital has an active staff of 10 Family Practitioners as well as several consultant staff.

The Wingham and District Hospital is a modern, progressive acute care facility providing medical, surgical, obstetrical, paediatric, chronic and rehabilitation bed and other services, including 24-hour emergency coverage.

Position: Dietary Aide
Region: Huron and Perth
Description: The Dietary Aide is responsible for the service of meals, including therapeutic diets, special patient orders and hospitality/retail items. The Dietary Aide communicates with patients concerning food preferences from the semi-selective menu at the point of service and maintains open communication with the NFS team, Manager of NFS and/or Clinical Dietitian as appropriate. The Dietary Aide is also responsible for nourishments and snacks consistent with therapeutic diets and patient orders, and where no specific orders exist, common nourishments will be provided in patient kitchenettes. The Dietary Aide is expected to maintain a safe, clean and presentable work area in order to prevent cross-contamination and to maintain general safety in the NFS department.
This is a part-time position that is anticipated to begin on September 3, 2024. The successful candidate must be available to work 6:30am–2:30pm, 11am–7pm, 2:30pm–7pm and weekends as required.
Responsibilities: Compile forecast sheets and prepares snacks, desserts using the therapeutic diet census systemReview patient diet sheets, set up tray labels and take the burlodgecarts to the patient units. Enter diet changes onto the Kardex as knownPrepare for catering, vending, and cafeteria service as appropriateCheck and monitor food temperatures and time in order Monitor bestbefore dates; dispose when appropriate; rotate by first in first outExhibit customer service skills
Qualifications:
Grade 12 Secondary School DiplomaCertificate in Safe Food Handling0 - 3 months previous related experience; healthcare food service experience preferred with a working knowledge of therapeutic diets.Moderate Physical effortAverage degree of mental effort and analysis Salary: $24.96 - $26.45 per hour
