Title: Diesel Technician/Diesel Mechanic

Reports to: Fleet Manager/Workshop Manager
Hours of Work: Between 6am – 6pm; Monday to Friday
Salary: $73,500 to $90,000 plus Superannuation
Company Overview:
Latrobe Valley Bus Lines is proudly part of The Dineen Group of Companies and has been serving the public transport needs of Latrobe Valley and Gippsland residents since 1948. Our maintenance and service division operates out of a state-of-the-art workshop facility located in Traralgon. We promote the use of new and emerging technologies focusing on efficient, low emission & environmentally friendly vehicles.
Mandatory Requirements:

Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Motor Mechanic with a trade certificate in working with heavy vehicles; or
Work experience in working with heavy vehicles of at least 3 years
Hold or be eligible to obtain a full Victorian Drivers License with a minimum endorsement of Heavy rigid classification (non-probationary)

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and repair mechanical faults and defects with company & client vehicles
Carry out necessary maintenance and repairs in accordance with priorities
Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components after being repaired
Carry out regular cyclical maintenance and services on company & client vehicles and maintain all compulsory records
Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair for proper performance
Assist with regular vehicle inspections according to safety requirements
Comply with Workshop Occupational Health & Safety standards and procedures
Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
Report accidents and/or incidents promptly as prescribed by the company

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,500.00 – $90,000.00 per year

Experience:

Diesel mechanic: 3 years (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Diesel Mechanic / Motor Mechanic qualification (Preferred)
