Key Responsibilities: Diesel Mechanic - Mobile Plant Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of mobile plant equipment, including dump trucks, cement trucks, road transport tippers, heavy mobile equipment, loaders, and excavators.
Conduct inspections and identify mechanical faults or issues; efficiently perform troubleshooting and fault-finding to resolve mechanical problems promptly.
Overhaul and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and other mechanical systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment.
Troubleshooting & Fault-Finding: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methods to identify mechanical issues in mobile plant equipment.
Effectively troubleshoot and resolve problems, minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment is returned to service in a timely manner.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on all mobile plant machinery and vehicles, including fluid checks, filter changes, tire inspections, and general upkeep.
Adhere to a regular preventative maintenance schedule to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce the risk of major repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES Qualifications: Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
Valid driver's license (manual preferred) and experience in operating heavy mobile plant equipment.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with a focus on mobile plant equipment (e.g., dump trucks, cement trucks, tippers, loaders, excavators).
Proven experience with troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairing a variety of mobile plant and machinery.
Experience with various equipment brands is beneficial, but not essential.
Skills & Attributes: Advanced diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems quickly and efficiently.
Experience working with diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems in heavy equipment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
