Benefits Professional & Personal Development Opportunities Support in gaining formal Instrumentation qualification 4/3 day work roster 5/4 shift roster with penalties included Job security with an established business About the Position We are currently seeking applications for  experienced Diesel Mechanics and Motor Mechanics (light vehicle motor mechanics)  to join our Mobile Services team located at Pioneer Mill in the Burdekin Region.  This is a permanent position, and the successful applicants will be responsible for safely and effectively providing maintenance of locomotive fleet and mobile plant to maximise locomotive and plant availability.  Job level will depend on current qualifications and skills mix.  This position moves to shift work in the Production season and is day work in the Maintenance season. A major consideration in this position will be providing trade guidance to fellow team members including apprentices. Motor mechanics who have had previous experience with diesel engines should apply and in house training will be provided to suitable applicants if they are successful. Main duties include but are not limited to: Servicing and tuning of engines and the diagnosis/maintenance/repair of locomotive systems (transmissions, drives lubrication, fuel, braking, induction/exhaust and suspension) MTU series 200/60 diesel engines, Mercedes 906,926, 502 diesel engines repairs and servicing. Allisson 3000 and 4000 automatic transmission repairs and servicing, repairs and servicing of Renk Magg drive units. Constructing and commissioning of capital built locos and brake vans. Repairs and servicing on various mobile plant, Franna cranes, Forklifts, trucks, loaders, bobcats, tractors etc. Assisting in the identification and scoping of work required for the maintenance of loco's and mobile plant Troubleshooting and fault reporting of equipment during breakdowns Understand and implementation of quality control techniques and work methods Ensure Work orders and related permits are completed and filled out correctly Operate in a work-based team environment and participate in other teams as required Extremely safety conscious.
