Experience the Kimberley region and make a difference Who are KRSP Kimberley Regional Service Providers (KRSP) provides a range of quality services including maintenance, repair, and capital works to utility services including power, water, and wastewater essential service infrastructure that improve the quality of life for Indigenous people living in the remote areas of the Kimberley Region in Western Australia.
With a head office and workshop in Broome and regional Kimberley including Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra, KRSP has a reputation for technical innovation, reliability, quality of workmanship, and professional services.
About the role We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Diesel Fitter/Mechanic with a proven track record of achieving results in a similar position.
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Diesel Fitter/Mechanic is an integral part of KRSP's operational team who contributes to our success by ensuring the reliability of essential service infrastructure.
This position is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to a significant positive impact on the day-to-day lives of the members of communities serviced by KRSP.
Key responsibilities of the role: Conduct scheduled maintenance on diesel generators within remote power stationsPerform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifespanDiagnose and troubleshoot faults and failures, identifying and resolving issues efficientlyRespond to unplanned maintenance and repairsMaintain accurate and complete service recordsAssist with the servicing and maintenance of water, water treatment, and wastewater service assetsLocation The role operates on a drive-in/drive-out roster basis from Broome to remote communities in the Kimberley.
Local Kimberley residents are encouraged to apply, as are candidates interested in relocating to the Kimberley region. FIFO is available for those located outside of the Kimberley region. The roster for this position is 18:12.
What you will need An ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices together with a positive mindset.
Essential criteria: Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter) preferred, or considerable experience as an Automotive MechanicMinimum 3 years post-trade experienceAdvanced fault finding and diagnostic abilityCurrent C class driver's licence and a good driving historyEffective verbal and written communication skills with an adaptability to different audiencesCapacity to work in remote locations, inclusive of driving on remote unsealed roadsAbility to work unsupervised and as part of a small teamDesirable criteria: Medium to Heavy Rigid (MR/HR) driver's licenseFirst aid, including CPR and LVRRecruitment agencies are respectfully requested not to submit applications for this role.
