We are on the hunt for experienced Diesel Fitters to join our Mackay Service Operations team working across our Mine Shop, Equipment Assembly and Undercarriage departments.
These are permanent full-time positions working alternating Monday-Friday day/afternoon shifts (9-day fortnight!).
A Fitter opportunity at Hastings Deering will provide you the experience to develop your skills with the following: Repairing, maintaining, and servicing key CAT machinery.
Performing diagnostic assessments on mining and general construction equipment.
Work as part of as skilled and driven team and get hands on with the following: Wheel loaders, Graders – 140M, 140H; Articulated Trucks, Excavators, Dozers, Backhoes, Rollers - Smooth drum and multi tyre; Skid Steers and Stand-alone engines.

About You A successful teammate will have experience in: Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering (Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners, Mechanical trades & Diesel Fitters) Demonstrated post trade mechanical fitting experience.
Component experience is desired but not essential.
Computer literate, along with experience in SIS is desirable but not essential.
Strong commitment to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.
The ability to work within a team and unsupervised.
Excellent planning and organizational skills Be available for day & afternoon rotating weekly work shifts.
