Salmon rents & supports a complete range of Caterpillar & other heavy machinery used in the mining & construction sectors, providing high quality plant for short & long-term hire throughout Australia.Salmon Earthmoving is seeking a skilled and qualified Diesel Fitter to join our team. As a Diesel Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring that they operate at peak performance levels.Key Responsibilities:Conducting regular maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems of heavy equipmentDiagnosing faults and troubleshooting mechanical issues in a timely mannerRepairing and replacing faulty parts as necessaryPerforming scheduled servicing of equipment to prevent unexpected downtimeAdhering to safety protocols and ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with industry regulationsMain Tasks:Inspecting, testing, and adjusting equipment for optimal performanceDocumenting all maintenance and repairs accuratelyCollaborating with the maintenance team to prioritise tasks and maintain workflow efficiencyParticipating in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and techniques in diesel engine maintenanceWhat We Offer:Long term projects.Retention bonus & site allowances available.Full-Time position.Flights direct to/from site ex Townsville / Brisbane.Camp accommodation & meals supplied.A collaborative and encouraging team culture.Opportunities for career development.Employee Assistance Program (EAP)The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (essential).Experience on CAT diagnostic systems or similar.A "can do" attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to carry out performance testing and adjustments after repairs.A strong commitment to WH&S policies and procedures.Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control.Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised as required.Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen.If you are a dedicated professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for maintaining heavy machinery, we encourage you to apply for this position.
