The Team:The North West Diabetes Centre provides a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of diabetes.
The team consists of Credentialled Diabetes Educators, Nurse Practitioner, Endocrinologists, Specialist Diabetes Dietitian, Podiatrist and Clinical Psychologist to meet inpatient and outpatient needs.The Role:To provide a specialist nutrition and dietetic service at the North West Diabetes Centre to people with diabetes.
To coordinate, plan and develop innovative best practice strategies within the region in the area of medical nutritional and diabetes expertise for people with diabetes.You will need:Extensive clinical experience and expertise in the provision of nutrition and dietetic services to clients with complex and critical care needs arising from diabetes.A high level of knowledge of diabetes medications including flexible insulin delivery, insulin pump therapy, oral hypoglycaemic and injectable medications.A high level of skills and knowledge in interpretation of results pertaining to blood glucose monitoring systems and continuous glucose monitoring.The following will be highly regarded:An approved Bachelor Degree of Science or equivalent.A Graduate Diploma or Post Graduate Degree majoring in nutrition.Credentialled with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA).Registered with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).A Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education.Details of appointment:Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 12 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 February 2025.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata).
