APS5 and APS6 Procurement Officers
APS 5 $55.24 / APS 6 $60.26 / Hourly Rate / 11.5% Super Canberra, Deakin ACT 12-month contract (Full Time Hours) About the client The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services for the Agency through a centralised procurement model.
Duties of APS 5 Providing procurement advice to multiple business areas, and other internal and external stakeholders. Establishing appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, reporting, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts. Providing high-level administrative, procurement support, managing confidential and sensitive information. Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures, and ensuring value for money-based outcomes. Identifying opportunities for improvements and contributing to the continuous development of procurement processes. Monitoring and progressing work area activities and achieving work area objectives. Duties of APS 6 Working collaboratively with multiple business areas as a procurement business partner to establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts. Managing and undertaking procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through the financial management system. Maintaining and implementing procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks. Contributing to procurement planning activities within the wider Procurement Team and across the Agency. Providing specialist procurement advice and ensuring procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Procurement Policy to deliver value for money outcomes that contribute to better social and economic outcomes for people with disability. Providing quality and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including guidance and reporting to the Branch Leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team. Monitoring and progressing work area activities to achieve work area objectives, ensuring consistent and high-quality outputs and maintaining team cohesion. Key skills required Demonstrated understanding of federal or state government procurement processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Intermediate understanding of the MS Office Suite. Demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask. Ability to remain composed in a changing, fast-paced environment. Desired Experience Previous experience using Procurement, HR and/or Project Management business systems. Management of staff (APS6 only).
