We thrive on breaking the mold and doing things differently to deliver tangible results for our clients, team, and the environment.About the roleWe are seeking skilled Dewatering Technicians for roles working directly with a principal mining client on a surface coal mine site in the Darling Downs region.You will work closely with a small mining crew and report directly to mining supervisors and OCE.
Your role is critical to supporting mining operations by ensuring the efficient and professional operation and maintenance of the site's pumps and water network.
You will use your experience to help improve current operations as we progressively modernise and improve the network.This is a day shift-only role based within 1 hour of Toowoomba.
Local people preferred for a DIDO arrangement, with accommodation and meals provided for non-local personnel.Working directly alongside a Field Maintenance Fitter, you will:Perform daily activities related to pit dewatering, mine water distribution, and discharge across the site.Assist in modernizing operations by maintaining the current bolt-together pipe network and participating in the implementation of polywelding and the installation of new pipe systems as changes are made.Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to minimise downtime and optimize efficiency.Daily ResponsibilitiesInstall, relocate, and maintain poly pipelines, diesel pumps, and associated equipment (valves/control systems) for open-cut mining operations.Conduct pit operations, including pump moves, inspections, and repairs.Perform refuelling and minor servicing when service trucks are unavailable.Support the pump fitter in maintaining and servicing all pumps and related equipment.Assist with general housekeeping and uphold safety practices.Job ScopeProvide dewatering expertise to minimise production loss and downtime.Install, move, and remove poly pipelines, diesel pumps, and other mining water infrastructure.Ensure adherence to Safe Work Instructions (SWIs) and OEM specifications.Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain pumps, piping systems, and equipment.Maintain a clean and safe work environment while managing risks effectively.Provide timely feedback and support to the maintenance management team to ensure operational efficiency.This role offers the perfect combination of operations.Essential Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience in dewatering operations.RIIWM201D Conduct Dewatering ActivitiesStrong open-pit mining experience, with a focus on water management and related systems.Minimum 3+ years of experience in dewatering operations, including pipe removal, pump inspections, and line repairs.Valid C-Class Driver's License (HR Class Driver's License desirable).Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 (S11) Mining Induction Certificate.Ability to pass a Full Pre-Employment Medical (PEM), including cardiovascular assessment.Highly Regarded Qualifications and Skills:Trade Qualification or demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude (highly desirable).Poly Butt Welding Certificate (PMBWELD301B) or similar qualification for butt welding of pipelines in compliance with Australian Standards.Experience or certifications in Electrofusion or Extrusion Welding Techniques (PMBWELD302B or PMBWELD309A).Tickets or experience in:Crane Operation, Rigging/Dogging, EWP or Forklift Operation.Lifting and Slinging Operations with relevant qualifications.Experience with integrated tool carriers, telehandlers, backhoes, or excavators.First Aid & CPR Certification, such as a Senior First Aid Certificate.Preferred Skills:Expertise in the installation, maintenance, and relocation of poly pipelines and diesel pump systems.Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.Familiarity with lifting and slinging operations, tools, and qualifications.Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-oriented culture.Your application
