DevOps & Python Engineers are an integral part of the Data Platforms team, which supports strategic data and analytics platforms that ingest data from a wide range of internal and external data sources in real-time and batch, apply complex business transformation rules and create consumption optimised polyglot data assets for strategic and operational use cases.
What You Get to Do Be part of a highly expert team with strong domain knowledge in software engineering and DevOps. Manage and support thousands of repositories, build and release pipelines on Jenkins and Azure DevOps for data platforms solutions. Design, develop, and deliver on GitHub Enterprise as we move our DevOps capabilities to the cloud. Create, build, and maintain an ecosystem of platform and developer tools used by thousands of Engineers. Develop and maintain Software Engineering and DevOps best practices, standards, and patterns relied upon by hundreds of engineering squads. Apply Agile development to DevOps solutions and tooling that lower the total cost of ownership through re-usable assets. Design and implement monitoring and alerting to detect and heal issues within applications and platforms. About You Ideally you will have 3+ years' experience in some of the DevOps and Software Engineering disciplines listed below:
Must have: DevOps Platforms (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub) Cloud Computing Services – IaaS & PaaS (Azure) Extensive experience in developing Python for a Production environment. Excellent Bitbucket and Git skills within in a large team environment Python development skills and familiarity with tools such as pytest, mock, sphinx, black, flake etc. Secrets Management (Azure Key Vault/ HashiCorp Vault) Experience in security scanning and understanding of security testing. Security by design Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible/ARM) Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) Build Automation Tools (Python Setuptools/Maven/Gradle) Monitoring, Alerting & Visualisation (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus) Configuration Management (Chef/Ansible/Puppet/PowerShell DSC) Good understanding of development life cycle. Nice to have: Other Programming & Scripting Languages (Scala/Java/Groovy/Bash/PowerShell) Test Automation (JUnit) Linux systems administration Familiarity with IP networking How do I apply?
