Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in penetration testing, network and application hardening, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires a collaborative individual who can work with diverse cross-disciplinary teams to enhance the security posture of our systems. The DevOps Security Engineer will play a critical role in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and ensuring the resilience of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Penetration Testing : Conduct penetration testing on networks, applications, websites, and camera systems.
Plan and perform regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.

Reporting and Policy Development : Keep the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and senior management informed about any identified vulnerabilities or risks.
Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Hardening : Work with diverse cross-disciplinary teams to strengthen the security of networks, applications, and websites.
Harden Linux and database systems to protect against unauthorized access and attacks.

Disaster Recovery and Data Security : Develop and implement data recovery and disaster recovery plans.
Mitigate risks associated with intellectual property (IP) loss.
Coordinate with IT teams for backups, data encryption, and IP loss prevention.

Research and Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on security best practices, vulnerabilities, and emerging attack vectors.
Research and plan security enhancements to stay ahead of potential threats.

Site Expansion and Hardening : Assist with site expansion plans, ensuring new sites are secure before staff migration.
Lock down Linux and database systems in preparation for expansion.

Technical Expertise : Implement Linux security best practices, particularly for Red Hat systems, including SELinux.
Secure database systems, especially PostgreSQL.
Utilize penetration tools such as Metasploit to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
Maintain a portfolio of discovered bug bounties as a testament to your expertise.
Have in-depth knowledge of Fortinet and Cisco hardware.
Be familiar with IP cameras, particularly Unifi.
Have strong experience with XCP-ng/XOA for virtualization.\

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is highly valued but not mandatory.
Strong experience in penetration testing, including networks, websites, code, and custom software.
Demonstrated experience in Linux security, particularly with Red Hat and SELinux.
Extensive experience in database security, especially PostgreSQL.
Proficient in using penetration testing tools like Metasploit.
Proven track record of finding and reporting vulnerabilities (bug bounties portfolio).
Knowledgeable in Fortinet and Cisco hardware.
Familiarity with IP cameras, especially Unifi.
Strong XCP-ng/XOA experience.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent communication skills to effectively report vulnerabilities and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically about security.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high security standards
