ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY – DEVOPS ENGINEER We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic DevOps Engineer to join our established SmartyGrants Technology Team.
You'll be working with a diverse team of high-performing, committed, and enthusiastic people who really care about making a difference for people and the not-for-profit sector.

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be integral to our team, supporting and improving our environments, processes, and tools.
You will also be responsible for supporting technical designs and ensuring performance, security, and ease of maintenance.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO Coordinate with our hosting service provider to ensure the effective management of our production infrastructure.
Monitor application performance, and improve alerting and reporting tools and processes.
Monitor and manage our non-production environments.
Monitor and manage builds, releases, and deployments to production and non-production environments.
Set up, configure, and support the tools and infrastructure used by the development team.
Identify opportunities to automate and improve development, testing, and release processes.
Create and maintain standards to be applied by developers and client/user support team.
Participate in planning, technical design, and decision-making.
Provide platform/security subject matter expertise when requested by the sales team.
Provide other support and assistance to the team as required.
THE SKILLS YOU WILL HAVE Experience in the tools that we use (or equivalents): Linux (or *nix) administration and scripting.
Java deployment environments.
Java build tools (Ant/Maven/Gradle).
Atlassian suite (Jira, Bamboo, BitBucket).
Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment methodologies and tools.
Docker/Docker-compose.
Postgres.
AWS.
Ansible.
Terraform.
Log management (AWS CloudWatch, NewRelic).
Conceptual, analytical, project planning, and delivery skills.
Solid knowledge of security best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An ability to collaborate and work confidently in a supportive team environment.
Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
An ability to think flexibly and manage competing priorities/multiple tasks with ease.
