About the Role As a DevOps Engineer in our Internet Banking team, you'll be responsible for reviewing and optimising development practices with a strong DevOps mindset and a deep understanding of DevOps principles.
Design, implement and continuously improve Kubernetes powered applications, this role's mission is to build and improve DevOps capabilities for the Bank in support of key strategic initiatives.
You will be an active contributor to the Agile software development lifecycle and be familiar with DevOps/Continuous Integration and deployment processes.
The role will also include systems analysis, design, development, maintenance & ongoing support to ensure that the quality of the solutions and artefacts you produce meet the defined needs relative to ANZ's environments.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will: With the support of the Digital Bank DevOps team, migrate existing Internet Banking applications to Kubernetes (OpenShift).
Modernise and optimise existing Powershell DSC configuration management templates with best practice configuration management techniques.
Apply DevOps best practices, continuously improve application delivery and Bank application platform infrastructure to enable robust, fault-tolerant feature delivery.
Work closely with other technology disciplines particularly developers, business analysts and testers to deliver upgrades and customer features.
Work in a cross-skilled enterprise environment analysing problems and resolving them within a high performing team.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Experience of managing Kubernetes cluster with one or more Kubernetes distributions.
e.g., RedHat OpenShift 4, AWS EKS, GCP GKE etc.
Solid experience in configuration management technologies like Powershell DSC, Puppet, Ansible or Chef.
Powershell DSC experience is especially valued for this role.
Expertise in Git version control and GitOps practices and experiences with popular GitOps tools.
E.g., GitHub, Bitbucket.
Deep understanding and experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and tools.
E.g., Jenkins, Codefresh, Argo Workflow, GitLab, GOCD etc.
Experience working and configuring resources within a public cloud hyperscaler such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Expertise in K8S configuration management tools.
E.g., Helm and Kustomize.
Good understanding and experience with modern monitoring/observability tool stack.
E.g.
Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry etc.
Good understanding and production experience with developing Kubernetes applications in enterprise data projects.
Strong understanding and solid experience in software engineering best practices and good coding skills in Python or Golang.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and write technical documents.
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
