In this role, you'll: Be a part of the Development Services team for the North region focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.Be responsible for coordinating and preparing TfNSW responses to planning authorities and private developers for land use planning and development proposals, in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory timeframes, policy and guidelines.Work across a dedicated geographic portfolio of NSW North covering the area from the Hawksbury River Bridge up to Tweed Heads.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will need to be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relations across multiple internal and external sources.
You will need to leverage these relationships to seek the appropriate advice and information required to inform your decisions, as well as negotiate outcomes and overcome challenges.
Critical thinking is key for the role.
You need to have the ability to review multiple development applications, traffic analysis in a time-critical environment and assess their transport impacts – this requires high-level problem-solving, creativity, and a refusal to accept things at face value.
The role will suit an experienced Traffic / Development Engineer familiar with Development application assessment, Urban and Regional Planning, Traffic engineering, modelling and Transport Planning processes applicable to NSW.
We will also consider people from other backgrounds with relevant skills and experience.
The role supports a variety of work in the North Region of NSW – this encompasses an area from the Hawkesbury River to the Tweed River on the Queensland Border, out to the Hunter Valley and New England Tablelands regions.
We have offices at a number of locations in the area and encourage people regionally based in New South Wales to apply as we have flexible working arrangements available.
