Together, we're working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world's biggest health challenges.  The Development Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for preparing and planning studies for the development, evolution and optimization of in-vitro diagnostic assays. This position is part of the R&D department located in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare, Ireland and is a hybrid position. You will be a part of the Development Science team and report to the Manager, Development Science who is responsible for managing R&D product development teams and is accountable for technical project direction, project planning and decisions within their area of responsibility and for setting project goals and milestones within the team in line with the corporation's objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Prepare and plan studies for the development, evolution and optimization of in-vitro diagnostic assays Analyze situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained P articipate in the analysis, design and development of system applications. Participate in process improvement projects. Report status of experiments to supervisor, write experimental reports/protocols with supervision, give data presentations Train new development scientists on instrument set up/maintenance and department processes. Provide quality assurance for adherence to technical standards.   The essential requirements of the job include: Relevant BSc (Level 8) or equivalent; with a minimum 2 years relevant experience, or relevant MSc (Level 9) . It would be a plus if you also possess: Experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory environment Knowledge of analytes, reaction mechanisms and performance claims Experience in training/mentoring junior team members.
