Planned Resources are searching for an experienced Project Engineer to perform technical reviews and approvals of engineering construction plans for development applications within a council setting.
This position is located in Melbourne's outer south-east and is contracted for a minimum of three months to begin with.
Responsibilities:Offer specialised advice on traffic and drainage issues for new developments and capital works.Conduct engineering investigations and provide solutions for traffic and drainage inquiries.Support and provide direction to the Team Leader, project engineers, and surveillance officers.Coordinate service authority works within the Council.Oversee the development approvals process, focusing on construction plans, traffic management, drainage, and technical assessments.Assess and document requirements for development proposals, ensuring Council and community interests are protected and infrastructure integrity is maintained.Lead project management of major drainage initiatives and develop solutions for local drainage challenges.Draft Council reports, statutory documents, and correspondence in compliance with relevant acts and regulations.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering (Professional Engineers Registration is an advantage).Relevant experience in project management, particularly within a local government setting.Familiarity with Local Government legislation and requirements.Valid driver's license.Proven experience in reviewing new development proposals.Strong stakeholder consultation skills for development and capital works projects.This role is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about public service and community development.
