Mackay Regional Council (MRC) is seeking a skilled Development Planner to join our team.
This role is responsible for providing professional town planning assessment services to Council, industry stakeholders, and the general public across a diverse range of development matters.
About this opportunity: The Development Planner undertakes the assessment of various development applications with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of development applications to ensure compliance with relevant planning legislation and regulations.Provide clear, consistent, and accurate development conditions and advice to applicants.Ensure the timely and efficient processing of applications to support a positive experience for applicants and stakeholders.Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to support the overall objectives of the Planning Department.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to deliver informed planning advice.Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or progressing) or a related field.Experience in assessing and managing development applications in a similar role.Excellent analytical skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge of planning legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to Queensland's regulatory environment is an advantage.Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
