About the Role The Development Planner will be responsible for conducting statutory and strategic planning in a timely and professional manner, with customer satisfaction being central to the process.
This role will contribute to a culture of positive, discretionary, and resilient staff and will aim to exceed customers' expectations by delivering a customer-centric service.
Key responsibilities include: Carrying out robust development assessment within the relevant statutory framework.Preparing reports and representing Council as needed.Reviewing and advising on major project applications.Aiming to have Development Applications (DAs) determined within 20 days.Researching and preparing technical reports for Council's determination.Having a sound understanding of applicable local government planning/building/compliance legislation.The ideal candidate for this role will have: Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Science or equivalent discipline with demonstrated experience in Town Planning / Development Assessment, within a local government context.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead and influence others.Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and connect with communities.Strong project management skills and experience in managing complex projects.A track record of delivering high-quality work within set timeframes.A good understanding of local government planning and compliance legislation.Further Enquiries Enquiries regarding this position should be directed to Michelle Henry, Manager Planning and Development, (02) 6799 6866.
