About You We are looking for individuals who are passionate and experienced in managing government property transactions, including the acquisition of land through both a compulsory and a negotiated agreement process, permanent road closures and other government property dealings.
Problem solving, project management and working collaboratively are skills which will see the successful applicant thrive in this role. Your project planning skills will be key in juggling and meeting competing priorities, while your ability to work collaboratively with your team and others will be the key to achieving outcomes in a busy and agile environment. To be successful in the role, you will also have:
strong technical skills in public land management to deliver Councils statutory property program of acquisitions and other dealingsvery strong facilitation and negotiation skillsthe ability to identify issues and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlinesa high attention to detail and great communication skillsAbout the Opportunity The Development Manager is a key role in the Property Solutions team within the Property Investment Department. The Development Manager works collaboratively within a technical team delivering a diverse range of government property transactions and dealings.
The key functions of the role include managing end to end processes for the acquisition of land in accordance with Councils role as acquisition authority. You will also facilitate land transfers, road closures and other dealings on public land while effectively managing and administering each matter to ensure public accountability, transparency and legislative compliance.
This is a temporary, Maternity Relief position from January 2025 up to September 2025 with a possible extension until January 2026.
*Interviews will be held late January, early February 2025. A Recruitment Pool eligibility list (e-list) may be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if they arise within the next 12 months.
Experience and/or a tertiary qualification in project management, development management, property economics, valuation, planning or related field.Knowledge of the relevant Local and NSW Government Legislation as it applies to local government property mattersCompulsory Acquisitions experience in a government setting.Current Class C drivers license.Demonstrated successful experience in managing complex land and property transactions in a local government settingCommencing Salary: $112,849 per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation.
