Are you ready to take on a key role in shaping our community's future? MidCoast Council is seeking dynamic individuals for either a Development Engineering role or a Development Engineering Certification role within our team.
The role/s As a key member of the development engineering team, you will play a crucial role in providing development engineering services, expertise, and advice for public infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring compliance with Council's standards and specifications related to conditions of development consent Providing development referrals to achieve Council's development assessment response timelines. Offering strategic advice in relation to engineering considerations and future infrastructure needs. Conducting comprehensive engineering assessments of development applications. Representing Council at the Land and Environment Court. Contributing to the continuous improvement of Council's engineering standards and processes. Assessing and monitoring various applications, including Public Engineering Works Permits and Roads & Drainage Construction Certificates, in accordance with relevant legislation. Conducting critical stage inspections for road and drainage construction projects. Providing pre-lodgement advice and technical engineering assessments. Reviewing and accepting traffic, pedestrian and construction management plans for approved development works. Undertaking surveillance and conducting formal inspections of civil works to ensure appropriate construction quality. Collaborating with the Subdivision Works Engineer and Development Engineers to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. What you'll bring Relevant qualifications and/or experience in engineering or a related field. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes and maintaining professional standards. Experience in the coordination and delivery of civil projects. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in civil construction, specifically in relation to roads, bridges and drainage. Providing exceptional customer service to stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to organise, schedule and conduct engineering inspections with a high level of communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. What we offer? Salary: Package between $101,563 - $121,875 (inclusive of a civil liability allowance and superannuation). A vehicle arrangement will also be available for the successful candidate.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
