We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our high achieving Development team and drive storytelling for our community of supporters, as well as build content that underpins strategies to continue to grow this community.
About You
The Development Communications Officer will work as part of the Development team and closely with the broader communications team to ensure Development content is strategically included to maximise the Institute's Development and organisational goals to cover the full costs of research. This includes managing, developing and polishing content for a variety of fundraising materials, programs and campaigns across print and digital channels, as well as creating content for Development campaigns, proposals and applications.
This full-time role reporting to the Manager, Development Services will be responsible for creating and curating diverse, engaging and high-quality content that aligns with the strategic goals of The Kids Research Institute Australia and supports the initiatives of the Development team.
Genuine interest in fundraising and philanthropy and a commitment to working collaboratively are essential along with:
Demonstrated experience in marketing, advertising, development or communications role.
A genuine interest in science and health research and how it impacts on children and families.
A passion and talent for storytelling.
Excellent and creative written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to write clearly, logically, and persuasively.
Highly developed digital literacy (understanding of various platforms including website, social media).
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications strategies.
Strong project management skills (prioritisation, organisation and multi-tasking).
