Snowy Valleys Council is a scenic and heritage rich local government area located in the South-West Slopes region of New South Wales. The LGA spans 8959 km2

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Town Planner to become part of our team. This role will be responsible for the assessment, reporting and determination of development applications and associated planning functions. Snowy Valleys is experiencing a period of sustained development growth and investment. This unprecedented growth will position you to gain experience in a broad portfolio of projects unseen in local government. Being the energy powerhouse of New South Wales, you will be involved in projects associated with Snowy Hydro 2.0, Humelink, and sustainable energy generation including wind and solar farms. You will also have exposure in assisting our strategic partners in developing plans and strategies to shape our future. While we are ideally seeking a fully qualified and experienced person for this role, we are willing to consider applications from candidates still completing relevant degree or postgraduate study with salary to be established appropriate to the level of study completed and experience. The role will require you to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, the ability to effectively plan and prioritise work priorities and have high-level verbal and written communication skills allowing you to build relationships, resolve issues and prepare complex reports and correspondence. You will be a pragmatic professional that can think critically, be influential and be outcomes focused to support the growth of our communities and business investment. The successful person will have an approach that successfully balances maintaining legislative requirements with facilitating development, promoting regional investment and ensuring responsive decision making. of the selection criteria listed in the position description. This is a permanent, full-time position working 70 hours per fortnight. The salary offered is $110,000 gross per annum . Salary will be negotiated based on applicants' qualifications, skills and experience. THE BENEFITS
