About the Team As part of our dedicated and high performing Environment & Planning Directorate, the Development and Building team are responsible for the delivery of Building Code of Australia requirements and Building certification, Development Assessment and Pre-lodgment and specialist advice. The department facilitates quality, compliant, sustainable development across the LGA ranging from established urban areas, through to urban renewal activity centres, future growth areas and environmental sensitive significant areas.

About the Opportunity and what we can offer you An exciting opportunity has become available for a Development Assessment Planner to join our dynamic and innovative Development and Building team due to an internal promotion. Together with our Development and Building team, the successful candidate will ensure that development occurs in a way that is consistent with the objectives of the Georges River Council Management Plan, Council's planning instruments, codes and policies.
You will gain exposure to and assess a range of development applications for compliance with relevant standards, carry out site inspections and prepare associated reports. Further, you will provide advice and information to developers, and the community, on planning matters. You will work alongside a passionate, enthusiastic and hard-working team who support each other and are committed to achieving good quality outcomes for the community.
