We currently have an opportunity for a Development Assessment Officer - Planning to join the team in our Planning and Economic Department. As Development Assessment Officer you will get to:
To ensure the efficient processing of Development Applications in accordance with the requirements of the EPA Act 1979, State Government and Council's Planning Policy. To assist Council in meeting its statutory obligations under the EPA Act 1979.
To assist in the planning reform program including the assessment of fast-track applications to support decreasing median processing times To assist with Strategic Planning matters as and when directed by the Director Planning, Environment and Communities To promote the image of Council as being customer focused, courteous and efficient. To Demonstrate the Council's values of Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork and Excellence. What we offer... Permanent full time, 35 hours per week Annual salary from $73,112 to $99,679 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)  Phone, laptop, leaseback subject to contract agreement What you'll need to be successful in the role... Town Planning qualifications recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia or an undergraduate nearing completion or a recent graduate or alternative related qualifications with 
suitable experience.
Class C Drivers Licence Sound communication, problem solving skills and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.
Project Management experience including research, planning, report writing and organisational skills with the ability to multitask. Ability to work as part of a team and independently to meet strict deadlines What you'll love about working for Kiama Council... We understand the need for flexibility and can offer:
