This is a hybrid role based in our Sydney, Australia office with flexibility for homeworking, so you must live within a commutable distance.
As part of the Destination Sport Group - - Destination Sport Travel provides business travel services to a number of major sporting clubs & federations.
Our bespoke business travel service has been designed and created to meet the specific requirements of sporting organisations, from scouts & individual player movements, through to commercial departments, directors and CEOs travel, both domestically & overseas.
We are proud to be the Official Travel Partner/Supplier to several professional Sports Clubs, providing a range of services including the day-to-day travel of teams at all levels within the organisation (First Team, Youth, Women's etc), plus Club Management, Directors and Sponsors.

This is a really exciting time of growth across the business, and as our Senior Business Travel Consultant you will work alongside our highly skilled team to offer first line support to our clients wishing to book travel arrangements for a variety of events across the world.

The key purpose of this role is to process booking requests, amendments, cancellations and respond to any customer communication in accordance with ISO and company standards.
In addition, the senior consultant will offer support to the Operations Manager, deputise in their absence, and support with training new starters.

No two days are the same in our sports travel team, but on a typical day you will

Deputise for the Team Manager in their absence ensuring that the branch continues to run efficiently Assist the Team Manager in supporting consultants with any training needs, and assist and support with new starters ensuring the buddy scheme is effective and the starter is integrated into the team Assist the Team Manager to identify opportunities for growth within your branch Process reservations, amendments and cancellations as requested by the client in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with the company standards and those laid out in the entire ISO procedures manuals Deal with ticketing and re-issues Take ownership of complex customer enquiries received in writing or over the telephone Offer a variety of flight options, explaining fare rules when booking flights Convert general enquiries into actual bookings utilising all the tools and technology available Monitor queues and ensure all communication both written and verbal is professional, accurate and conducted in a timely manner Offer advice regarding destinations, best/most cost-effective carriers etc Take ownership and responsibility for all client queries handled until successfully concluded Support any commercial agreements which are in place Ensure the highest level of customer service is offered to internal and external customers at all times Log and deal with customer complaints and reduce future issues, escalating where necessary Accurately process data and issue invoices to ensure compliance with ISO standards Maintain and develop relationships with key clients Utilise account management skills in order to retain and grow business Ensure that full support is given to the key preferred suppliers Achieve own sales target and lead by example at all times To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate extensive experience working as a Business Travel Consultant (within the sports travel industry would be highly desirable but not essential) Possess previous experience booking flights, and coordinating bookings Ticketing experience would be highly advantageous (but not essential) Demonstrate experience dealing with high volumes of email and call requests, processing complex travel bookings Demonstrate excellent Worldwide travel knowledge Be proficient in using travel booking systems to a high level, including use of a GDS Be computer literate with strong IT skills: especially with Microsoft packages (Excel, Word,) Possess excellent customer service skills Be accurate with the ability to follow complex instructions Have the ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives Demonstrate exceptional communication skills both verbal and written Be well organised and quick to prioritise workload Have the ability to think logically and consider all relevant aspects with strong analytical skills Be flexible and able to prioritise tasks in line with business objectives Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines So if you are looking for your next challenge, please get in touch we'd love to hear from you!
