About the Role
As an emergency services organisation, ensuring uninterrupted critical support 24/7 is paramount for the CFA.
This reliance hinges on the efficient operation of all ICT systems and applications.
The Desktop Support Officer, an integral member of the ICT Service Desk team, plays a pivotal role in providing support to all CFA Members and managing client requests through to resolution.
The services encompass a wide spectrum including computers, tablets, printers, copiers, scanners, telephony, and networking environments, with a primary focus on customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery.
This role unfolds within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, requiring both independent and team-oriented work capabilities, along with innovative problem-solving skills.
Participation in a 24/7 work roster, including after-hours and weekend shifts, may be necessary to ensure support for emergency operations.
About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Experience in an enterprise-scale ICT support role providing level 1 and/or level 2 support in a Help Desk environment. Liaison and negotiation skills, achieving positive outcomes with stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Knowledge of best practices in IT service management (such as ITIL Version 4 Certified). Experience with problem rectification and fault reporting practices. High-level diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
