As part of the firm's expansion plan in APAC, they are looking to hire a middle-to-senior level Desktop Support Engineer into their Sydney office.
This is a full-time permanent headcount working as part of the APAC team.
Key Responsibilities Acts as the primary contact for the business users for technical issues, production problems, and inquiries.
You will manage and escalate requests and contribute to the successful deployment/upgrade of IT services and systems.Occasional off-hour and weekend support to provide emergency business support and IT change.Setup, configure, install and troubleshoot desktop hardware and applications, with full compliance with company guidelines and standards.Conduct appropriate levels of troubleshooting and ensure that high priority incidents or incidents that require more detailed technical knowledge to resolve are escalated to the relevant senior members of IT.Perform documented standard operating procedures relating to things like patching, backups, monitoring, capacity management that keep the IT Infrastructure up to date and highly available.Responsible for break/fix and installations of software upgrades.
Identifies the issue, creates project plan and timelines, performs tasks and measures results according to plan.Collaborate with the APAC team and demonstrate ownership for IT systems in the local offices.Requirements 5+ years of experience as Desktop Support with a global organization, preferably in financial services.Experience supporting front-to-back office user with experience working in a regional team structure.Possess initiative with a 'can do' attitude.Strong communications skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-IT staff.Advanced skills on troubleshooting Microsoft O365 suite.Professional working knowledge on SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, Group Policies, and Users, ServiceNow, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Citrix XenApp/XenMobile.Proven experience in supporting Windows and MacOS.Demonstrate a good understanding on Networks, web-based applications, scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python and DOS Batch files.
