We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT support team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems function efficiently.
This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems and software applications, as well as the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
Duties
Provide first-line support for desktop-related issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
Utilise ServiceNow to log incidents and manage service requests efficiently.
Conduct software troubleshooting for various applications and operating systems, including Linux environments.
Assist users with IT support queries while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Configure and install desktop systems, peripherals, and necessary software applications.
Monitor and maintain firewall settings to ensure network security.
Communicate effectively with users to understand their issues and provide timely resolutions.
Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex problems when necessary.
Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles for future reference.
Requirements
Proven experience in a help desk or desktop support role.
Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, Linux) and office applications.
Familiarity with IT support tools such as ServiceNow is advantageous.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Experience in troubleshooting hardware issues related to desktops and peripherals.
Understanding of firewall configurations and network protocols is desirable.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
