Known for our unique detailing and distinct features which will take you from work to weekend in distinct style.We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Designer to join our team on a 12-month contract covering maternity leave.
This role is part of our talented Design team and reports directly into the Creative Director of David Lawrence.Key responsibilities include:DesignDesign product for allocated category within framework and guidance by the Creative Director with an emphasis on the Wovens category; tailoring, outerwear, dresses, pants & skirts.Development of a collection that is brand aligned, delivered to the critical path deadlines and to budget.Create tech-packs to produce best 1st samples – communication of tech-pack clearly given to Technical team.Select fabrics and trims that are in line with the brands direction.Ensure all information is entered accurately into PLM/AP21 and communicated with the relevant supplier.Order and track fabric sampling.Attend fit sessions with the design team resolving fit and measurement specification corrections and convey any design changes to suppliers.Manage and updating all changes made in the system and ensure these are conveyed to the supplier.Ensure the Fabric/trim library and all samples are maintained in an organised manner.Sourcing/ResearchingResearch key trends, colours and print direction for the season.CAD designs into the correct fabric print and colour combinations for the buying team.Follow up with suppliers on all fabric information and details including price, lead times.Communicate and summarise all changes and actions to internal and external stakeholders.Select, communicate and approve all colour standards for fabrics and print artworks.Match bulk fabrics back to the standard to ensure a premium product.Problem solve with the production team and supplier on any fabric, print or colour issue.Assist with the discussions on the trend reports and colour.Ensure all the samples are tracked and all samples are logged.We are seeking the following attributes:Bachelors degree in fashion design (4-5 years).Prior experience in a fashion design business in Wovens.A portfolio with style aligned to the David Lawrence brand identity.Tech savvy.Competent in Adobe Creative Suite/AP21/PLM.A genuine interest in trends and fashion brands.What we offer:Opportunity to work with a highly creative Australian Designer Label.Generous employee discount.Career progression opportunities based on performance.Ongoing training and development.Fun working environment!We will be considering applications as they arrive as looking to fill this role immediately so please do not hesitate to apply today by sending your resume and a covering letter outlining your interest in working with David Lawrence and how you meet the above selection criteria via the APPLY NOW option below.Finding the right cultural fit is important to us; we have an amazing collection of creative, clever and inspiring people who work hard and have fun together.
