About the Role
In this position, you will leverage your expertise in civil engineering design to contribute to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of municipal engineering infrastructure, with a focus on roadworks and stormwater drainage systems. You will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering documentation, including bills of quantities and specifications, for tender and contract inclusion.
During the design development, you will carry out activities such as confirming project scope, timing, and cost objectives, identifying opportunities and constraints, and providing effective communication graphic for stakeholder engagement. You will maintain accurate records of design progress and provide design progress updates.
About You
We are seeking a skilled civil designer with an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or approved equivalent, along with experience in roadworks, stormwater drainage, and traffic infrastructure design. Familiarity with open space, irrigation, and water/wastewater design is desirable. The ideal candidate will be proficient in computer-aided design software, such as AutoCAD and 12D, and possess strong time management and project analysis skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of design procedures used by local authorities. Knowledge of relevant legislation, quality assurance systems, and Local Government experience is highly desirable. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance within project management contexts.
