At Souter Search, we are recruiting for multiple Apparel Designers for a leading Australian retailer.
Due to their continued growth, our client is seeking experienced designers who are passionate about product and can drive strategic sales growth, execute trends, and ensure continuity across fit and construction.
Your responsibilities will include: Research on current and emerging fashion trends, materials, and consumer preferences.Create mood boards and build cohesive collections that align with the brand identity and market demands.Engage in the end-to-end design process from development through production.Collaborate with the production team to ensure design feasibility and adherence to quality standards, pricing, and production deadlines.Work with Buying/Product Development and suppliers to elevate quality and ensure consistency of fabrication, materials, construction, and fits, ultimately enhancing the perceived value in our product offering.Oversee the approvals of designs through garment fittings, strike offs, and colour by fabric approvals, making concise comments and adjustments to ensure prototypes reflect the initial intention of design and are of the highest quality finish.About You Fashion design experience essential within a fast-paced retail environment.Robust portfolio showcasing both commercial acumen and creative proficiency.Demonstrate a strong understanding and consideration for customer segmentation in range architecture, ensuring balance in price, looks, and silhouettes to meet the customer's demands.Bring demonstrated experience in the areas of garment construction, trim execution, designing to a FOB, and fabrications.Expertise in using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.A creative eye for fashion trends with the ability to generate creative ideas and concepts.Skilled at handling multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Tertiary qualification in Design is preferred.Are you interested in hearing more?
