We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and engaging Design Technician for a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position based at our Glen Waverley campus.
We welcome applications from those with a product design, engineering, or manufacturing background with experience in equipment use, particularly 3D printers and laser cutters.
Experience in using and operating CNC routers and enRoute software would be advantageous.
This is an opportunity for a current tertiary student, or a person with an industrial background in one of the above specified areas would be ideal.
Good communication skills are a requirement, as there is a need to work directly with students and teachers.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Manage 3D print, laser cutter, and possibly CNC job requests. Full training will be provided on all necessary software/equipment. A willingness to learn and adapt is essential. Ensuring safe work practices in the department/learning area. Ordering and replacing equipment as needed. Determine needs in hardware and software acquisitions and assist in ordering processes. Communicate effectively with Design and Technology faculty members and students as required and attend faculty meetings and professional development as required.
