We are currently recruiting nationally for our Melbourne office, seeking two experienced Design Managers with proven experience in delivering WTP and WWTP projects.
We're seeking water treatment professionals with a can-do attitude, a consultative approach, and the ability to prioritize and lead project teams. In return, we offer a flexible hybrid work environment, with both part-time and full-time positions available, and diverse career pathways.
What you'll doDesign management/project management of complex Water Infrastructure projects (including concept and detailed design and/or strategic infrastructure planning projects)Manage the day-to-day tasks on multiple projects of varying complexity and size and manage the production and review of concise high-quality technical documentation that effectively present complex information and results to technical and non-technical clients.Lead and motivate design and project teams, to ensure projects are delivered to the required scope, within budget, identifying and mitigating key risks, to a high standard of quality and ensuring the client's requirements/success factors are metEnsure relationships with clients, including contractors are managed effectively in order to meet/exceed client expectations.Developing independent, practical and economical solutions to problems and taking necessary action for the successful accomplishment of assigned projectsLead and/or contribute to business development activities including proposals and pursuits.Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on project goals, including providing technical input, technical review and sign off (as appropriate), and risk management.Keep abreast of current water and wastewater technology and provide high technical expertise and innovation in design and procurement of projects.Apply relevant State and Federal legislation as it pertains to water and apply industry standards and guidelines.Participate in company development initiatives.Support and mentor staff, including active participation in the Mentoring Program and mentoring junior PMs and DMs.Active involvement in shaping the industry and events through committees, industry bodies, delivery papers etc.About youYou're likely to have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering. MIEAust or IChemE equivalent, CPEng, and RPEQ.Experience in the Australian water industry, ideally in an engineering consultancy with a focus on water utilities/water treatment.Demonstrated experience in the project/design management of water infrastructure projects.Project management qualifications/accreditation would be highly regarded.Experience with plant commissioning would be an asset.Technical skills across a broad range of areas within water and/or wastewater treatment/process disciplines.Strong technical writing skills are imperative, as is the ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to submit technical reports to a high standard requiring minimal correction and provide final review of project reports.A positive and proactive attitude with the ability to get involved and lead others, while contributing to a vibrant team.About WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
