Our Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management for governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations, helping with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.
This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Water Utilities team. You will join one of the largest consulting teams in Adelaide in the water sector and collaborate with talented professionals nationwide (Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast). Working on iconic projects, you will drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
We are involved in some of Australia's industry-leading water programs partnering with key clients including:
SA Water Engineering PanelLogan Water Partnership, Logan City CouncilWastewater Regional Program and Water Southern Zones Programs, Urban UtilitiesCapital Delivery Office (CDO), TasWaterGold Coast PSPDelivering 4 Customers, Sydney WaterWhat you'll do Deploy risk management principles and methodologies into project systems and processes.Lead the delivery of high-quality design projects, ensuring accountability for business and project outcomes.Work in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or JV settings.Manage the design team and interface with the contractor workforce.Seek design team resources for each project, with the ultimate responsibility for providing resources lying with the business section executive.Prepare design fee estimates for both the "tender design phase" and the "delivery phase" of each project.Manage the overall delivery of designs to meet time, budget, and quality requirements. This includes managing engineering governance processes such as design reviews, change management, requests for information, and validation and verification.Oversee the management of the design team and interface with the contractor workforce.About You This role is strategically important to our future growth and impact. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who is consultative, able to prioritize their work, and gets things done. The successful candidate will be a team player, capable of working with a range of stakeholders, including influencing senior leaders and helping highly technical engineers understand commercial imperatives.
Qualifications and Experience: Recognized Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process), or Electrical Engineering.Relevant industry experience in the water, industrial or mining sector.Demonstrated high level of technical knowledge.Strong experience working in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or JV settings. Skilled in managing conflicts between organizational cultures and business system demands.Extensive experience in owning and being responsible for signing off on designs. Delivered designs that meet legal requirements, quality standards, and client outcomes on projects.Established and managed complex design processes and systems in high-profile projects.Proven competency in project management.Demonstrated leadership and management ability.Demonstrated sound technical knowledge.Able to juggle multiple tasks across several projects within the business unit.Basic knowledge of contracts or drafting variations is desirable.Knowledge and experience in cost reporting, analysis, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word are essential.Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
