About the role:
Fleetwood is on an exciting journey of growth, and due to this growth we now require a highly experienced Design Manager to oversee, mentor, and lead our National Design team. You will be tasked with overseeing Queensland, Western Australia and Fleetwood's broader national housing strategy. You will work in close partnership with our existing Design Manager who has responsibility for Fleetwood's remaining states of operation. Based out of either VIC, NSW, WA, or QLD this role is accountable for providing strong leadership and management of a high performing team of Design Documenters and Estimators, ensuring project planning and delivery in line with Fleetwood's strategic objectives.
Your key responsibilities of the role are: Lead and oversee the daily functions of a National Design team, managing resource allocation, capacity planning of resources and reviewing documentation to ensure technical accuracy and project delivery in line with business objectives. Actively managing resources Provide team members with guidance and industry experience in developing market segments. Work closely with internal estimating and steel teams and internal stakeholders across the project lifecycle to ensure the best outcomes for Fleetwood. Lead the creative design process in line with business objectives. Establish formalised workflow procedures to ensure a consistent high degree of accuracy. Liaise with Sales department to ensure strategies are implemented as per business objectives Review documentation to ensure it is of high quality and is compliant with established design standards. Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, standards and legislation. Assist with the development and review design policies, programs and procedures, rectifying any procedural errors as required. Support in the development, implementation and deployment of new software, systems, technologies and workflows in alignment with Fleetwood's strategic direction. Manage design team skills and knowledge, identifying technical or training needs. Support and mentor team leaders to manage the daily activities of their teams. Ensure effective communication with clients, internal and external stakeholders. Complete regular and ah-hoc reporting as required. Manage process flow between estimating and steel teams Management of capacity and resource planning Internal stakeholder management – sales, manufacturing, construction managers About You:
The ideal candidate will be driven, technical, and strategically minded. You will be a registered Architect and will display exceptional leadership skills with a passion for developing and mentoring your team. You will display a minimum 5 years experience in a leadership position with a demonstrated history of working in a design construction environment. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of design software programs with Revit being desirable. Further to this you will have exceptional time management and stakeholder management skills.

To be successful in this role you will also demonstrate: Minimum 5 years' experience in a management or leadership position. 10 years plus experience in the design construction environment. Strong working knowledge of design software programs (Revit preferred). Demonstrated experience in a management role as a strategic thinker to lead and develop a team delivering successful project outcomes. Ability to effectively manage relationships, both internal and external. Excellent time management skills. Strong understanding of trade capabilities within the construction industry. Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook is essential. Ability to turn information into usable data and documents. Registered Architect. Able to travel interstate where required.
