A locally owned Geelong company, RAPP Australia Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer and importer of specialist medical and emergency service products.
First founded in 1982, RAPP Australia designs and distributes products that aim to be best in class for Effectiveness, Reliability, and Safety of Use.
The role: Based in Lara, Victoria, this role is for an product design manager of five team members including textile product designers, and a sample maker.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the position is full-time and on-site.
RAPP Australia's design team develops specialist bags for clients in pre-hospital and emergency response environments.
The client base includes ambulance, firefighting, rescue, police, defence, and additional niche markets.
The customer-facing aspect of this position involves obtaining and guiding design briefs, negotiating timelines, and forming strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Design Manager collaborates in a cross functional team with our Innovation Manager, to integrate innovative technologies and processes into our next generation of kits.

Attributes: To be considered for the role, you must demonstrate the following: A talent for collaboration; can competently facilitate a culture of teamwork across the organisation.
Can lead a small team of design professionals, providing leadership, defining expectations, monitoring and managing performance, and giving timely and constructive feedback to support staff development.Comprehensive knowledge of industrial design-thinking principles.Have an in depth understanding of pattern making, sewing construction, build of material structures, and product costings.Demonstrate a keen sense of communication, attention to detail, and organisation skills, in established design processes to achieve required outcomes to meet deadlines.Digital literacy that includes CAD (StyleCAD preferred), CRM, Project Management Software (Zoho preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.Able to meet and maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems requirements.Next Steps Salary is negotiable based on experience and value you can bring to the organisation.
