Design Leads collaborate with the business to develop solutions and ensure their successful delivery. They establish approaches to leverage design for achieving desired outcomes, leading multidisciplinary teams through the design process while upholding best practices and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
Key accountabilities Lead a team of design professionals and support the development of best practice design skills and competencies, providing feedback that supports continuous improvement and development of team members.Lead the provision of complex and ambiguous scoping activities to develop stakeholder briefs and narratives to create a vision, plan and explain concepts to an executive audience.In a dynamic and changing environment, lead large scale design projects and priorities using appropriate design methodologies and capabilities including interaction design, user testing and prototyping based on best practice.Work collaboratively and in partnership across the Strategic Delivery and WorkSafe business units to provide specialised advice that ensures design initiatives meet stakeholder needs, articulating valuable insights to reflect the organisations strategy and deliver on WorkSafe's strategic plan.Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to draw learnings from research, insights and analytics to deliver best practice approaches and influence outcomes.Establish, build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with senior leaders to provide strategic direction, deliverables, expectations, and potential risks and issues.About you This opportunity will suit a naturally curious leader who has a passion for advocating Design Methodologies throughout our business. You have extensive experience working in Product & UX Design. You will foster exceptional leadership, lead a positive workplace culture and be a strategic thinker partnering with designers to innovate, implement and achieve Worksafe goals aligned throughout our strategy.
Skills and experience Demonstrated experience in leading complex experience design projects.Previous experience in leading end-to-end experience design projects.Proven ability to lead projects with a high level of ambiguity.Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity to deliver positive outcomes.Proven ability to apply design methodologies to solve problems.Demonstrated ability to coach and upskill people on experience design methods and new ways of working.Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence in a complex and political environment.Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with the proven capability to build and maintain productive working relationships across a range of stakeholders, collaborating at all levels.Knowledge of/or the ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of the Insurance and Health and Safety legislation.Qualifications Tertiary Degree in either Design, Business, Human Sciences, Engineering or other relevant field. Design methodology qualifications would be desirable.
