This is an exciting opportunity for an individual eager to contribute to cutting-edge aviation operations and gain hands-on experience in a unique and challenging environment. As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting aircraft modifications and repairs, ensuring safe and effective operations within our fleet.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign modifications and repairs for aircraft in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.Provide technical support to the workshop and maintenance teams, ensuring seamless implementation of design changes.Collaborate closely with the Design Team to develop optimal solutions for complex engineering challenges.Produce engineering documentation, including technical drawings and reports.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing overall operational efficiency and safety.Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required to support the broader engineering team.QualificationsEssential: A relevant Engineering degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Aerospace, Mechanical, Aviation, or a related discipline.Preferred: 3+ years' experience in an aircraft maintenance or design environment, particularly in an engineering support role.Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.Knowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of aircraft operations, structures, and maintenance processes.Basic knowledge of avionics, electronics, or systems design is a plus.Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in the aviation industry.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and safety.A proactive and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.Additional InformationWhy Leidos?At Leidos, we value innovation, teamwork, and the opportunity to make a real-world impact.
