Design Coordinator

With continued company growth and an exciting pipeline of future projects, Fairbrother is looking for an experienced Design Coordinator to join our design team.

This role will have you at the forefront in delivering some of Tasmania's and Victoria's most iconic construction projects.
You will be supporting design management activities and assist in facilitating design teams to provide project solutions, advice, and documentation.
The role is permanent full-time and can be based from one of our two Tasmanian offices: Devonport or Launceston.
Working across multiple projects concurrently, you will be charged with leading design objectives while ensuring that project delivery requirements are achieved.
You'll need to be able to track multiple priorities, with a variety of project delivery models from government, private sector, and Fairbrother's own developments portfolio.
To succeed in this role, you will need: Degree in Architecture or relevant tertiary education.
At least 2 years' commercial construction industry design experience.
Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills.
Demonstrated experience in project management, construction methodologies and operations.
Knowledge of design trends and demonstrated proficiency in design documentation review and communication.
Excellent communication skills (graphic, written, and verbal).
Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
We are looking for someone with commercial acumen, a 'safety-first mindset in design' focus, with a passion for sustainable design.
You'll need to be well-versed in state and local government planning requirements as well as having knowledge regarding NCC, Australian standards, industry projects, and design approaches.
With a high volume of projects, you'll need to be adaptable and have the ability to flex with business needs and work well under pressure.
