Role Purpose The Design & Communications Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity for a creatively minded person to help shape the QRU's brand identity. You will be tasked with conceptualising and executing design work across Queensland Reds, QRU and Ballymore owned channels, playing an important role in supporting our strategic growth and engagement plan by producing and delivering eye-catching collateral.
You will also deliver compelling design components for internal requirements and for external stakeholder engagement, from new and existing commercial partners to Board and Government agencies and will deliver design work which will be showcased on major game and event days.
You will also have the opportunity to develop broader communications skills through contributing to owned channel strategy, planning, analysis and review, capturing and editing visual content, and contributing more broadly to the QRU's Content team's collective deliverables.
This role requires the ability to focus on developing and maintaining outstanding internal and external relationships. Many of the critical internal relationships are inter-departmental, including working closely across key team members in the Professional Rugby, Elite Pathways, Commercial, Community Rugby, Customer Engagement and Government Relations fields. Reporting into the Digital Content Lead day-to-day, you will also work closely with our Creative Agency, collaborating on shared work trackers and maintenance of our style guide whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
Role Specific Tasks Developing high quality creative concepts and initiatives – in line with our brand guidelines Developing and maintaining Reds, QRU & Ballymore brand guidelinesOverseeing Queensland Rugby and Ballymore social media channels as required, including moderating comments and activity, and assisting the Digital Content Lead with the management of Queensland Reds social media channelsManaging the calendar and delivery of EDMsManaging website content on behalf of Community Rugby departmentCreating and delivering graphic content for QRU owned channels, driving and tracking YOY growth in unique visitors (website) and engagement (social media) Monitoring analytics and creating reports detailing the success and learnings of communications campaigns and strategiesPreparing artwork for internal and external stakeholder engagementShooting still and sports photos for distribution across our owned channelsContributing to overall communications plans and schedulesWriting original owned channel content as required (social media and web copy)Shooting and editing high-quality video content optimised for distribution across our owned channels (preferred) Qualifications Demonstrated qualifications in the graphic design fieldA base knowledge of Rugby Union (Rugby landscape preferred)Minimum 2-3 years' experience working as a graphic designer (preferred)Experience using the following: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom & AfterEffects) and AsanaIntermediate Photography & Videography skills (production and editing) is advantageous About You We are looking for a motivated emerging professional who wants to grow within this role and can hit the ground running.
