HSE ADVISOR – ROAMING
Perth based with frequent site travel
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Advisor to join the team based in Perth, with frequent travel to oversee three operational mine sites.
This role is integral to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment across all sites, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met, and supporting a culture of safety excellence.
As an HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for driving safety initiatives, conducting regular site inspections, and providing expert guidance on HSE best practices.
You will work closely with site teams, contractors, and senior leadership to proactively identify risks, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and promote continuous improvement across all aspects of HSE performance.
The role requires a strong background in mining operations, particularly in drill & blast, crushing, processing, and haulage activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance with HSE regulations, and drive corrective actions.
Provide guidance and support to site management and workforce on HSE matters, including risk management, incident reporting, and investigation.
Develop and deliver HSE training and inductions for site personnel, contractors, and visitors.
Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, trends, and KPIs, providing insights to senior management to support decision-making.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis is performed, and corrective actions are implemented.
Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement safe work procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work across drill & blast, crushing, processing, and haulage operations.
Ensure compliance with environmental management practices, including waste management, water management, and rehabilitation requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, reports, and documentation.
Foster a proactive safety culture across the sites, engaging with teams to continually improve safety practices and performance.
Key Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in HSE roles within the mining industry, with a strong background in drill & blast, crushing, processing, and haulage operations.
Qualifications: Relevant HSE qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, Diploma of Work Health and Safety, or equivalent).
Knowledge: Sound understanding of HSE legislation, industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Ability to influence and engage workers at all levels to prioritize safety.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote mine sites within Western Australia (flights and accommodation provided).
