Job Description
Dermatology Veterinary Nurse
The Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) is a multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary centre providing Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Behavioural Medicine, Surgical and Imaging services from two locations to veterinary practices within metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Immediate start
Part time position – on a 12 month contract (with the possibility of permanent employment)
No weekend rosters or public holidays worked
Working at our Glen Waverley and/or Essendon Fields locations
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent appropriate tertiary qualification is preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience in general practice required

The MVSC dermatology department is seeking a veterinary nurse to provide high quality patient care and assist the specialist veterinarians in various tasks. The position requires a high level and quality of nursing skills and experience coupled with the ability to learn new skills quickly and work within a fast-paced environment. The veterinary dermatology nurse will also communicate closely with clients, providing outstanding customer service and assist the dermatologist in various specialist consultations and procedures throughout the day.
This is a part time position on a 12-month contract working 10 hour days 2-3 times per week; days are negotiable. There is a possibility that this role could lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Intradermal testing for allergies
Assisting with ear flushes, biopsies, laser surgery, MRI, hearing tests
Assisting with consultations and discharges
Client phone calls, emails and follow up

This role would be ideal for a veterinary nurse who is highly motivated, can focus well, has great client and staff relationship skills, works well in a highly skilled team, has a sense of humor and has experience working in a busy departmental environment.
