The Opportunity The Deputy Secretary, Infrastructure and Asset Management / Chief Executive, Health Infrastructure provides strategic leadership of infrastructure policy and planning, and the delivery of health infrastructure projects on behalf of NSW Health. The role is directly accountable for providing high level advice to the Government, Committees of Cabinet, Ministers and the Secretary, with a focus on improving community access to health care facilities across NSW.
To achieve a seamless and integrated infrastructure delivery model, this dual role drives collaboration across policy development, strategy, capital works planning and delivery, and property and asset management. Uniting these functions supports future-focused and sustainable health infrastructure outcomes for NSW.
As Deputy Secretary, the role leads the Infrastructure and Asset Management Division within the Ministry of Health, providing strategic advice and direction of infrastructure priorities to deliver asset management, capital planning, and capital delivery policies. As the Chief Executive of Health Infrastructure, the role has the responsibility for the effective management of Health Infrastructure as a shared service function, overseeing the planning, design and delivery of major health capital works and commercial projects, ensuring collaboration across multiple disciplines to transform public health facilities and precincts.
About You This role requires significant knowledge and experience in delivering a complex infrastructure program including all aspects of planning, procuring, delivering, and commissioning, and maintaining capital works infrastructure on time and on budget. A strong understanding of current policies and directions of NSW Government and NSW Health and their implications and opportunities for the planning and management of health assets would be highly regarded, along with exposure to different public and private partnership project delivery and asset management models, to inform capital procurement strategies.
You will be skilled at driving reform and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, embracing change in diverse, complex environments. Strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication and collaboration skills are required, coupled with the ability to build partnerships and collaborate across the sector to achieve shared objectives.
